How to Find Wholesale Dropshippers
and Drop Ship Suppliers?
|
Drop shipping companies do work, but there’s a catch. I’d like to expose the entire process of finding legitimate drop shippers right here, right now. No BS just the straight scoop. If you’ve done any searching for more than five minutes then you have probably already seen the top drop ship companies like….· Doba· Salehoo· Simplx· Plus others….. |
|
They’re basically up in your face right away because everyone is pushing these websites so that they can make a few dollars as an affiliate promoting their drop shipping program.
So, ultimately the real challenge is finding companies that will sell you individual products at a low enough wholesale cost so that you can in turn resell it, and then have them drop ship it to your customers, and still make a decent profit.
So the problem as you already know then, is not finding the obvious ones which are right in your face.
If I’m right what you’re searching / looking for are companies that will make an arrangement with you or your company to purchase products at wholesale, and then drop ship the product to your customers as needed.
So, as mentioned above you can find online sites that will offer the so called turnkey solution, but the vast majority of them have a big flaw.
The #1 Problem With These Dropshipping Programs!
It’s simply not feasible to purchase inventory cheap enough from these types of drop shipping companies to be competitive in the online marketplace like EBay,
Craigslist, or your own e-commerce website, and profit on a consistent basis. That’s the dirty little secret that these companies will not tell you.
Companies like Doba, Simplx, Shopster, Salehoo for example are all companies that allow you to purchase items from their company interface, and then sell them via whatever e-commerce outlet you choose.
As a complete beginner to the e-commerce business it might make since to use one of these services just to get an idea of the e-commerce process, and to get your feet wet, but it’s not going to work long term.
The biggest problem with using these companies is that they are basically middlemen, and a big part of your profit is slashed before you even list an item for sale.
Today’s consumer is smart, and they are not going to purchase something unless they know they are getting a really good deal, particularly on the internet.
You see others have figured it out, they either found out the dirty secrets about the turnkey online drop ship companies the hard way, or they didn’t go that route to start with. They know what, and from whom to purchase in order to be profitable, and I can assure you that the vast majority don’t use these types of set ups.
Here is The No BS Info About How to Make
This Business Model Work!
The solution is really two fold, and involves some elbow grease, and good old fashion leg work!
Sorry…. running an e-commerce business is work, there is no such thing as the easy push button. This method requires work, and follow-up.
Here is an important concept. In order to be competitive, and purchase items at wholesale, you need to be able to purchase items at wholesale.
I know that sounds a little redundant but please read that again, you need to be able to call a manufacturer or supplier and make a purchase directly from them. To do this you’re going to need a wholesaler’s certificate.
Ahhh…that is the magic word.
You see, this is not a business that you can simply pretend like you are in business; you have to really be in business. In my particular area in Florida I get a wholesalers certificate from the state. In order to get that certification I have to register as a business in my county.
That allows me the ability to purchase items from other businesses at a wholesale cost, but there is a catch….
The catch is this, once you have gotten the wholesaler certificate, and the basic stuff you have to do as a business, the secret is to purchase the product as close to the manufacturing level as possible.
If you can purchase from the manufacture directly you will have a much better chance of making a good, to decent profit on a particular item. This is not always possible because sometimes manufactures will only sell to exclusive distributors regionally, and then they sell to smaller wholesalers or retailers after that.
The e-commerce business is ruthless with competition, and there are lots of people that will willingly sell the same item you are offering for as cheap as possible because they did the leg work.
This leads me to my next point.
How To Buy Products, At Or Close To Wholesale?
A word of caution however!
Be very careful attempting to purchase from overseas manufactures. Many times these can be straight up scams, and put you at huge risk for all kinds of possible problems. There are still lots of products manufactured right here in the U.S. for example, so there is no need to start looking overseas.
You can find companies that are available in your area that you’ll feel much more comfortable with, and still be able to make a wholesale buying relationship.
So here is the big secret resource… Ready?
You can find drop shipping companies by looking for them through trade show directories. Many of the major cities in the U.S. have trade shows every year. They list the vendor’s information on their website with all of their contact info. You can search these directories by product, and locate manufactures and suppliers.
You’ll want to pick up the phone, and call them to find out what their purchasing terms are. They will usually have a vendor package ready to either email to you or mail out that outlines their standard purchasing terms. This is why it’s important that you get the appropriate business certificates that give you the necessary credibility to work with these companies.
After you’ve gotten that package, and returned the required info then it’s time to call them back on the phone, and negotiate the best possible scenario. Not all suppliers are willing to ship single items but the only way to find out is to start dialing the phone, sending emails, and establishing relationships.
You may still be at a disadvantage however because others are able to purchase in larger lots, and in higher volumes per unit. They have the ability to inventory items in greater numbers, and thus are able to purchase at lower costs.
Many distributors and manufactures sell on a sliding scale. While you may only purchase 10 units in a month another person/company is purchasing 100 units, and thus getting them at a cheaper wholesale cost. Ultimately, that is something you simply have to work with.
Remember it’s about profit margin.
As your business gets bigger you can make better deals with companies, because you can buy in light bulk, and inventory good selling items.
Like I said, it’s work, and it’s the research that gets you the best deals. Finally, there is a small shortcut to this but I would more consider it an intermediate step to establishing your own relationships with wholesale suppliers.
Here is a Short Cut
There is a company that you may have already seen others talking about, and that company is Worldwide Brands. Of all the online drop shipping companies they are head and shoulders above everyone else.
Why?
Simple, because they already do what I just talked about above. They go to the trade shows, they make the phone calls, they do all the research of the manufacturers, and suppliers for thousands of products.
They then compile that information into a data base that you can access, and it’s called One-Source. It does make it a lot easier and honestly can save you a lot of time. They also have a massive training resource on their site that makes learning the e-commerce business a whole lot easier as well.
The only problem with Worldwide Brands is the cost. Honestly, it’s expensive, $299.00 for a lifetime membership fee. You have to think of it like this though.
Number one, if you have set yourself up as a business it’s simply a tax write-off, so start with that.
Number two, it can save a lot of time, and that is something that is really valuable, and gives you a big head start when searching for suppliers.
So, it’s something to think about.
Beyond that I’m not sure I would recommend any other way of going about it. The bottom line is that dropshipping with companies does work, but research and follow-up is the key to success.
